Activities of the Center for Educational Studies and Research
The activities of the Center for Educational Studies and Research at the Faculty of Education for Uncle 2018-2019 can be summarized as follows:
A series of meetings in which researchers presented their current research projects
A meeting to present new research projects (supported or not supported, individually or in a group)
Annual symposium on "the role of research centers in the humanities at the Lebanese University" with the participation of all heads of research centers concerned
Scientific day on the professional development of university professors with the participation of specialists from the University of Lausanne, Saint Joseph University and the American University of Beirut.
A workshop to discuss the research policy of the Faculty of Education. It has been prepared in several stages:
Gather data on research activity and research trends for faculty members through the Google Form and build a necessary database that contributes to participation in research projects and teams,
Classification of Master Theses in all disciplines in the College since the application of LMD, with the aim of linking Masters subjects to the research policy of the College,
The research needs of the College follow a link to the labor market, and access to research trends in the faculties of education at the local, regional and global levels.
Put a slogan for the Center, and was accomplished by a student in the Master of Education Technology, Dayan Farah
Start work on data collection and classification of scientific journals and periodicals in preparation for sending to the teaching staff, as well as the search for funding sources for research projects, especially involving students
Launch of the Digital Journal of Educational Research (September 2019).
The ETALEB project, funded by the European Union and ERASMUS +, aims to improve the educational performance of the Lebanese University (http://www.etaleb.org/home). The E-Taleb (Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Lebanese Universities) project is a three-year, co-funded project of the European Union's Erasmus + program, which was launched in February 2016. Aims to achieve excellence in Lebanese higher education institutions through the development of the teaching and learning system and processes.
The project comprises eight Lebanese universities, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, which is the coordinator of the project, the Lebanese University, the Arab League, the University of Balamand, the Lebanese American University, the University of Jinan, the Holy Family University, the University of Medina, as well as the Directorate General of Higher Education. It also comprises the following European institutions and universities: University of Roehampton UK, University of Karlsruhe Germany, Claude Bernard Lyon University-1 France, Evalagh Foundation - Germany, Education Development and Staff Association SEDA UK.- Hey.
The project has three main objectives:
First: Developing the “Lebanese Professional Standards Framework for Education and Learning Support in Higher Education Institutions”
Second: the establishment of "centers of excellence in university education" in partner institutions,
Third: Preparing experts and granting them certificates of excellence in university education.
With regard to the first objective, namely the development of the Lebanese Framework for Professional Standards for Education and Learning Support (LBPSF), it has been fully completed, accompanied by a detailed guidance document. .org).
The Lebanese University, specifically the Faculties of Education, Engineering and Pharmacy, is a key partner in this project and has been actively and intensively involved in all its phases. The Faculty of Engineering has started to introduce the faculty members of the faculty to the Lebanese Professional Standards Framework (LBPSF).
The following activities are accessible to the general public.
The Lebanese University celebrated the World Optometry Day on March 18, 2019, with participation the Department of Optics & Optometry of the Lebanese University - Faculty of Public Health (Branch 1).
The Department of Ergotherapy of the Lebanese University - Faculty of Public Health (Branch 1) held a symposium entitled "Success Stories in the Field of Occupational Therapy" hosting four formers graduated ergo therapists.
The Lebanese University - Faculty of Public Health (Branch 5) held a scientific day on "Aging & Cognitive Health" in cooperation with the Physical Therapists Association on March 22, 2019.
The Departments of Midwifery and Ergotherapy of the Lebanese University - Faculty of Public Health (Branch 1) held a conference on mental health (5/4/2019). The conference aimed at raising awareness about the importance of mental health in the Lebanese society, to deal with daily life stress and maintain a balance between practical and family life to face any possible depression that could lead to risks of addiction or suicide.
The Department of Laboratory Sciences of the Lebanese University – Faculty of Public Health (Branch 1) organized a scientific activity on May 3, 2019 on the occasion of the International Medical Laboratory Science Day and the International Medical Laboratory Professionals Week.
The Faculty of Engineering - First Branch of the Lebanese University hosted a lecture on the introduction of the latest health systems and was given by GEBERIT in cooperation with the "Zumorli" company (25/1/2019). The lecture, which was organized under the auspices of the College Director Dr. Adel Hallaq, was attended by Eng. Lina Al-Hajj Hussein from the "Zumorli Company" and Mr. Bassam Keyrouz from GEBERIT Company - Lebanon and Mr. Richard Pierre from the same company in Switzerland.
The Faculty of Public Health organized the day of Biomedical Analysis between the Past and the Future on Friday 05/03/2019 at the Rafic Hariri Hadath Campus.
On the occasion of Mother and Child Day, the branch’s Student Council at the Faculty of Engineering - the third branch at the Lebanese University organized the “Orphans Festival”, with “children” who will be special guests at the college. (20/03/2019).
The Lebanese University - Faculty of Engineering (Ras Maska Campus) was hosted on Saturday, February 16, 2019, the year’s largest event, during which students will compete for a prize of $250,000 in seed funding and a place at the Regionals. During the event, a panel of SME judges selected the best startups to compete at the national semi-finals with a chance to make an impact and solve the world's toughest social challenges through business.
Hult Prize is one of the most important students’ competitions worldwide. Each year, the Hult Prize Foundation declares a challenge and mobilizes students from around the world to solve it. This year, (13th February 2019) Hult Prize’s concerns are directed towards Youth Unemployment and the challenge is to create a venture that provides 10,000 meaningful jobs for youth in the next decade. A panel of judges will be selecting the top 3 teams, so we need you to be many to encourage all the contestants.
On behalf of the RESCUE (Refugees Education Support in MENA Countries) Project, co-funded by the ERASMUS+ Program of the European Union and coordinated by UNIMED (Mediterranean Universities Union). Invited to the “Dissemination Conference and Opening of the Lebanese R-SOS Units” under the patronage of President Fouad Ayoub (March 14, 2019).
The Doctoral School of Science and Technology (EDST), AZM Center for Research in Biotechnology and its Applications, organized the conference entitled:"Exploration of fungal diversity for the deconstruction of lignocellulosic biomass and the implementation of biosynthetic pathways for green chemistry”. Presented by Emmanuel Bertrand, associate Professor - BBF FUNGAL BIODIVERSITY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY Aix-Marseille University.
International conference entitled "School dropout in Lebanon: between prevention and remediation" at the Lebanese University, Beirut-Hadath, end of March 2019.
AAPG Lebanese University Student Chapter in collaboration with Lebanese petroleum administration (LPA) organizes a seminar entitled: “Oil and Gas in Lebanon”. Oriented by Mr Wael El Khatib, an exploration geologist with broad experience of oil and gas in Lebanon (January 16th, 2019).
Under the patronage of Minister of State for Information Technology Adel Afyouni and the presence of the President of the Lebanese University, Professor Fouad Ayoub , the Lebanese Association for Information Technology LITA is organizing in cooperation with the Higher Institute of Doctorate in Law and Political, Administrative and Economic Sciences a symposium entitled: "Protecting the Future - Building a National Strategy for Cyber Security " (February 26, 2019) .
Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry at the Lebanese University organized a conference entitled: “Modern aesthetic concepts in restorative dentistry”. (28/2/2019). The conference, which was held in the conference hall of the Rafic Hariri University Campus - Hadath , was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Lebanese University, Professor Tony Zenon, President of the Lebanese Society of Prosthodontics Dr. Carol Yared, Head of the Research Department at the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Ziad Salama, President Department of Prosthodontics Professor Wadih Nassif, Head of the Postgraduate Department of the Prosthodontics Department Professor Elie Gerges, Dr. Roberto Turrini and Dr. Daniel Gensini from the Italian Institute of Education Fradeani , as well as a number of professors, researchers and students.
The Momentum team at the Faculty of Sciences - the first branch at the Lebanese University invites you to participate in the lecture given by Dr. Muhammad Mahdi Nasser al-Din, diseases, surgery and restoration, and because technology is contributing to the study of intractable diseases such as cancer and others (March 13, 2019). The lecture aims to introduce all new information in the field of medical devices and modern technologies, and to highlight the specialization of "medical physics" and the Master of the Faculty of Science at the Lebanese University.
Under the patronage and presence of the President of the Lebanese University, Professor Fouad Ayoub, the Research Center - the Social Psychology Laboratory at the Institute of Social Sciences at the Lebanese University , organized a scientific conference entitled: “ Children and Adolescents in a Changing Society - What Standards? ”, Which was supervised by Dr. Raja Makki. (4/3/2019).
The Lebanese University Faculty of Engineering, Campus of Hadath, was organized the Sixth International Conference on Technological Advances in Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering (TAEECE2019) from 3-5 April 2019.

The Lebanese University Faculty of Engineering, Campus of Hadath, was organized the 9th International Conference on Digital Information and Communication Technology and its Applications (DICTAP2019) from 3-5 April 2019.
The Lebanese University organized the "5th International Conference on Advances in Biomedical Engineering" (ICABME'19) on October 17, 2019, in the Order of Engineers, Tripoli.
The Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui organized a “Gastro-intestinal and digestive oncology conference” in partnership with the Lebanese University – Faculty of Medicine on September 21, 2019.
The Lebanese University – Faculty of Sciences (Branch 3) was organized a free workshop entitled “Comms with impact and AAA strategy to Overcome Stress” on September 28.
Azm Center for Research in Biotechnology and its Application organized the event “Frontiers in Physical Therapy, Science and Technology”, July 20, 2019.
The Lebanese University organized the Conference about “Waste management in Lebanon between crisis and successful initiatives”.
Under the patronage of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the National Commission for Science and Research, development he sixteenth annual events of the Science Match 2019 with the participation of about 170 schools, 550 young Lebanese inventors and innovators and more than 200 scientific projects and innovations. Thursday and Friday, 11 and 12 April 2019 the courtyard of the College of Science.
The Lebanese University organized the second scientific conference of the National Center for the Quality of Medicine, Food, Water and Chemicals entitled: "Pollution - Quality of Health, Reality and Hope".
The Lebanese University - Faculty of Sciences (Branch 1) organized to the first Computer Science Career Expo 2019 (CSCE’19). The event is organized under the patronage of HE Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Mohamad Fneich. The event had to aim to bring for real cooperation and partnership between the graduates in Computer Science and the companies operating in this field. It also gives IT students an opportunity to learn about how to conduct interviews with companies and write CVs. (March 14, 2019).
The Lebanese University organized the conference titled: "The First President between Administrative Tasks and Jurisdiction at the Indictment Authority" in Laws 3.
The Lebanese University organized the seminar on "The Human Fraternity Document for World Peace and Coexistence" by His Holiness Pope Francis.
